Color Hop for January 14

Good morning, everyone!  At last, it's starting to feel a little more like a normal winter around here. It's into the 30's now!  Coming from Amanda's blog,  I'll bet you feel warmer, too as she always makes something that warms my heart.  Our colors for today are Whisper White, Pear Pizazz, Early Espresso, Real Red, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake.  I've been making Valentine cards lately, so I had that in mind for this card.  Pretty simple, but it's cute, too.  The background for the tree is that new specialty DSP from sale-a-bration.  Enjoy the rest of the hop, starting with Helen's Hot entry.  Her cards always sizzle... Hope you are having fun. Come on back, and thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Color Blog Hop for January 7

What a cold beginning to 2015!  BRRRR!  These colors are pretty together, but they are cold colors, like our weather.  I wonder if  Robbie made a wintery card for us, you just came from there.  Our color palette consists of Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, and Basic Black.  I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I had a card I wanted to make a friend that had a Birthday and Aniversary all this week, so I went to my Wonderous Wreath set and made a shimmery wreath with crystals for the berries.  Hope she likes it as much as I hope you do.  I'm also anxious to see what Helen did.  Let's go see.  I love seeing what she comes up with, I don't know how she does it.  Enjoy your hop on through, and thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Playing with new toys

Good morning, I posted some cads that I've been playing with some of my new stamps.
I just love the Lotus stamp. It is pretty in any color, especially when it is applied with all 3 steps.    I also am having lots of fun with the Whispering tree stamp set.  This can be used all year long!  Any occasion, and it's also male friendly.  That's a plus, because it's hard to find ways to make masculine cards.  The Happy Easter stamp speaks for itself, you can color it any way you like.  Had to share these.  I have lots more to play with too.  Come back tomorrow, and see our color hop.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith                                                                                                                  I

Coloring Down the Lines-Happy New Year!

SO SORRY!  I'm late again!  These holidays have me all off schedule.... Anyway, I bet Amanda wasnt late.  And I bet it's very beautiful!  Our colors today are Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral,, Crisp Cantaloupe and Very Vanilla.  I had one more tree in me, so I just punched out stars in the orange colors, and glued them on and added a Happy new Year, and some Grunge spots all around.  Hope you like it.  I know that Helen also has a wonderful creation for us on this last day of 2014, so let's go see.   Again, I apologize, and come back later, I will have more entries from my new toys.  Have a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!,  and be SAFE!  Carol Smith

Color Blog Hop-Merry Christmas!

Good morning, ladies!  It's here, at the eve of Christmas already!  I'm just about Christmas't out, having made Sooo many Christmas cards.  Here's one more... I haven't seen Amanda's card yet, but I'll bet she's on the same wavelength.  Our colors are Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, and Smoky Slate.  Unconventional colors for Christmas, but they are pretty and candy-like.  I just lined up  Christmas balls on a ribbon stamped in smoky slate, and added some stars in between.  The balls have glitter on them, which is hard to see, but they sparkle in real life.  I know Helen has more Christmas Spirit left, so lets go see what she made for us.  Love her style, it always surprises me.  Thanks for visiting, we'll be here next week also, and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!  Carol Smith

Coloring Down the Lines

Are you enjoying your hop with us?  You've seen what a beautiful creation Amanda has for us today.  I think I'm more on board this week, as I recreated the inspiration photo.  I sent this one to our little 6 yr. old Addie Lynn in Utah.  Sweet little girl.  I hope you like it as much as I hope she will.  I made my own "Snow" for the branches, which is just equal parts of salt and flour, then add enough water to make a paste.  Heat it from the back a few seconds, and then from the front, and it will puff up.  It's  a little yellowy, so i painted it with white SU ink, just sponging it on.  I love doing this.  Let's see what Helen did.  I sure can't wait to see either.  Come back again.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith
