Welcome and Merry Christmas!

Welcome to my Christmas Kitchen!  I love the way it feels in here.  So cozy and Christmassy!  hehe  Love my snowmen... Thanks for visiting.  Merry Christmas everyone!  Keep Christ in your Christmas! Carol Smith

Remember this?

Remember this wreath?  I ordered an extra paper pumpkin kit last year to make a Christmas wreath.  I promised I would put it on, and so this is what I created.  I simply put a bow, and an elf in the center, and glued on some of the miniature jingle bells for berries.  Love the way it turned out.  It is hanging above my kitchen sink.  The old time Santa is another card, done in pink, but I made some in reds and greens, too.  Hope you like them.  Thanks for visiting. Thanksgiving Cards

Hello, and welcome to September!  Ready for fall weather...I had a request for some Thanksgiving cards, and this is what I made.  The first one, I think I saw on Pinterest. But its gorgeous.  I may add some gold embossed speckle on top, just an idea.  The second one, I conjured up, and I embossed the bucket and the give thanks in copper.  That makes it pop.  Hope you enjoy them.  Thanks for visiting. Wedding Bling

Happy Saturday to all.  My sister wanted some wedding cards made with some "Bling", so I used the July Paper Pumpkin gems, and embossed them in gold, silver, and dazzling diamonds.  and embossed the jar too.  Add a dazzling bow, and you're done.  Let me know what you think.  the flowers on the left are in progress., I will show them later.  They are just simply embossed in white on vellum and I sponge color on the back and fussy cut them out.  What do you think?  Thanks for visiting me today.  Carol Smith

More Casing goin' on :)

So is everyone staying cool?  Whew!!!!  More reason to stay indoors and play with stamps, right?  Well the first one today is cased, I believe by Robbie Rubala.  Thanks, Robbie :)  I made several color choices for different occasions.  The other ones were just dabbling, but the one embossed in the new copper I just couldn't get my coloring even.  Hope you enjoy them.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Fine-tip glue pen creations

These cards were really fun to  make.  I first stamped the blossoms all over white cardstock.  They sat on my table for some time.  Didn't know what to do with them.  I finally decided I would cover all the images with the fine-tip glue pen and let it dry overnight.  Then I sponged color on over that, all in different colors, which gave them different personalities.  Lost lagoon, peach and plum.  I had salutations and the flower from birthday blooms, so I colored the flower in with some rich razzleberry, which goes really well with the plum.  then I covered that with the glue pen.  They came together nice, and I added different elements to each one.  Let me know how you feel.  thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith  ps- I fussy cut the flower and put that on top.

I am spending more time in my craft room of late, and I put together some cards from things that were laying on my work table.  I had no ideas for them, they just kinda put themselves together.  the flowers I had made with vellum, embossed in white, and I spied them and sponged color on the backs.  Added the lace, and the sentiments.  How do you like them?  Thanks for visiting again.   Carol Smith

Everything

Are you surviving the heat?  I suppose we should be used to it, so I try to stay indoors and play with my stamps. These are cased from the "Everything" stamp set that was free in the past paper pumpkin kit.    I just changed the coloring.  Input appreciated.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Hello Summer!

Hello, and welcome to summer!  My first cards are cased, but I added some sponging on the edges of the white card backdrop.  One is embossed in gold and the other one is embossed in copper.  I will add a sentiment when I need one.  The deer and friend stamp in the bottom one are retired, but I still love them.  I purchased an item in a store this week, and it came in this beautiful gift bag which I cut down for my own designer paper.  I used this as the background for my deer.  Love them.  I used tip top taupe for my matching ink.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

old Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Good morning!  Gonna be a beautiful day that the Lord made for us!  This card was born from a background paper from the January paper pumpkin.  After each month, I take the calendars apart and make a card from them.  This one turned out really cute.  Hope you like it.  I can't resist putting a little wink of stella on my props, so the butterfly glistens a little.  Thanks for visiting. Carol Smith

May Paper pumpkin

I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous day!  My son and his girlfriend are in Massachusetts looking for whale!  So awesome!  Anyway I wanted to show you what I did with some of my May paper pumpkin kit.  I used 1 of each of these patterened cards for a stencil, and sponged on the colors of choice and then lined it up behind the white cardstock.  So cute. And a great way to lengthen the life of these patterns.  Let me know what ya think...  thanks for visiting. Carol Smith  ps- the last 2 are just stenciled, not lined up underneath.  Sneaky, huh?

Hello, here I am again with a couple ideas...  the top one is just a cluster of flowers from a retired set pushed together with a copper embossed salutation.  The bottom one has a background from the January paper pumpkin kit.  After I use that calendar month, I take it apart and use the background.  the white em bossed flowers are from Peaceful Petals.  Hope you like these too.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Mother's Day Cards

Good morning to a beautiful day today...  These cards I received on Mother's Day.  Aren't they beautiful?  I decided to case them for myself because I love them so much.  Thanks, girls!   I just added the corners to mine using the "tin of cards" stamp set. I inked up just one side and put it on all the corners.  It seemed to finish out all the white.  thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

just playing

Good morning ladies... Just posting a couple cards I had laying on my worktable that I didn't post yet.  The second one was inspired from weeinklings.  You can use just about any stamp set for your collage edge.    Hope you like them and that they inspire you.... Thanks for visiting. Carol Smith

Monday, May 23, 2016

Hope you had a happy Monday.  Finally the sun came out!  We built a deck... and we're really tired right now...Anyway, these cards I had fun with.  The first ones, you need to choose a stamp set that needs coloring in.  And then you just fill it with the precision glue pen and let dry, then use your lighter color and sponge all over the cardstock, and then stamp a backround with the darker color.  I found that blackberry bliss goes really well with the new plum color.  Thanks for visiting, Carol Smith

Old stamp set

Happy  Sunday to you!  These are my design, but they are an old set from way back.  I think that set is called winter rose or something.  but it's still gorgeous!  Have a great day!  Thanks for visiting me.  Carol Smith

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Matt!  Our son-in-law's BD was yesterday, and this is what I made for him.  Hope you like it.  It was cased, but I can't remember who inspired me.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

April Wreath- Paper pumpkin

Hope you're having a day as beautiful as it is outside...  Here is my alternate idea for the April paper pumpkin wreath.  I just cut some thinlet flowers, and added a bow.  HOpe you like it.  Thanks for visiting. Carol Smith

Doin' a little Smoochin'

I saw this SMOOCHING technique on Stampers Showcase today, and decided to give it a try!  IT's FUN!  You nust ink up a piece of acetate and spritz, lay your cardstock on it, ( or watercolor paper) and rub in on.  Then dry with your heat tool on front and then on back to manage the warp.  Its so cool.  Who needs the grunge stamps?  Anyway hope you enjoy trying it.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith
