Color Blog Hop with a Different Fold

.
Are you enjoying the hop so far?  This was a tough one!!!  Both in color and shape.  We had to use Pistachio Pudding, Pear Pizazz and Garden green along with Basic Gray, Real Red and Blushing Bride.  And the sidekick was to use a different fold other than side or top fold.  I didn't know what to do with all those odd greens, but I spied a piece of retired Christmas DSP, and thought I'd make a Christmas card,  I laid out all the elements, and decided to use the stamp set "Choose Happiness". The sentiments go inside the flap.  And my fold is a Z fold.   I hope you like it.  I"m not sure I do, but this is it!  You've come from Amanda's site at www.ourcraftyplaydate.blogspot.com. Her card is awesome as usual.  Let's now go to Helen's blog at www.bluedahliadesigns.blogspot.com.  I can't wait to see it.  I hope the rest of you had an easier time than I did.  I get to surf the blogs with my Grandson Gabriel today.  My first day to babysit, since my daughter goes back to work.  Have fun, I know i will.    Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

An open Heart

Good morning ladies, it is gloomy this morning here in Bedford county, but I hope this card will cheer you up.  I was just playing with the new stamp set, An Open Heart, just to see what it looks like stamped, and WOW!  Isn't it beautiful?  I stamped the branch with mossy meadow, and the bird in early espresso and colored them in.  Added a couple pearls for the berries, and embossed the top with one of my spares (not SU)  :( .  The centiment is stamped in smoky slate.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Wednesday Blog Hop using edgelits and Framelits

Happy Wednesday blog hop, and you've just come from Amanda's blog www.ourcraftyplaydate.blogspot.com.  With these beautiful, complimentary colors, I know she made a gorgeous card for us.  The colors on the inspiration photo are Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Colypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I added a little Certainly Celery, just because I had leaves to color!  But I LOVE it... I just made a background from the set " I Like You" and used the scalloped edgelit and the new label framelit.  I love how this turned out.  Didn't know i had it in me.  lol!  Let me know what you think.... Let's go see what Helen did for us this week.  She never ceases to amaze me, that girl!  www.bluedahliadesigns.blogspot.com.  Keep creating, and see you next week.  Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

Our color blog hop- Sandy's choice/Sidekick: Do a Cutout

Welcome to our Wednesday blog hop!  You've just seen amanda's beautiful card at www.ourcraftyplaydate.blogspot.com, I know it will inspire you.  Our colors were similar, but very interesting, as they are all in the same families of yellows and oranges. Our side kick was to do a cutout.  I simply cut  with the die and put a lattice behind it and behind that, I sponged all the colors on the back of a piece of fancy foil vellum. You can see the gold hearts peeking out.  My salutation is embossed in Tangerine Tango, but it's kind of hard to see.  Oh well, I still like it.  It's prettier in person.  Hope you like it too.  Lets' see what Helen did with hers.www.bluedahliadesigns.blogspot.com  I can't wait to see it, as I love her style... Thanks for visiting.  Carol Smith

My own version of the SU Wreath Kit
